This tour takes you across the rim of the caldeira of Sete Cidades, passing points where you can have an awesome view over the green and the blue lakes. The tour includes a stop in Ferraria where you have the possibility to bathe in the ocean in a natural swimming pool that is heated within a volcanic fissure when the tide is low. Lunch is in a local restaurant halfway to Lagoa do Fogo. In the afternoon we take you to the amazing natural reserve of Lagoa do Fogo to enjoy nature at its best. Astonishing views from the top of the crater’s border are a must to photograph! We then drive you to Caldeira Velha, a warm iron-rich waterfall.

Q: What is the sea water temperature?
A: In summer reaches 24ºC and in winter is not lower than 16ºC. When the tide is low the water temperature in the rock pool at Ferraria varies between 30ºC and 50ºC, depending on how close you are to the volcanic crack.
